Dear All,

Welcome to an exciting new year with Gareloch Riding Club. As always our enthusiastic committee are plotting and planning to bring you once again another jam packed year of events. Already we have had a successful Christmas hack in Balloch Park - helped along by some bubbly - many thanks to Linda for organising this!  The SECC Carnival social evening was full of thrills and spills and much laughter and screaming was had by all.  Lessons have been taken by David Gatherer and Fiona Hunter and will continue to be through the winter. Even although these lessons may be fully booked our website highlights any spaces that become available.

We say a thank you and a warm cheerio to our committee members Donna and Kirsty.  We thank them for their time and effort with the website, mailshots, social events and moving the odd pole here and there!  Donna’s work commitments are taking over and we wish her every success.

Well, that’s it for now, I hope our weather starts to improve so that we can all motivate ourselves to pull on our woolly socks, pull up our favourite worn jods, wrap cosy jackets around ourselves and head  out on our beloved horses, or get ourselves involved with horses in some shape or form.

Until next time happy horsing around!

Carolyn

Forthcoming events are looking very promising with a Western Demonstration in the pipeline – keep your eyes on the events listing on our website for full details. Once again Ian Stark has agreed to visit us, dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.  Another pleasure hack is being organised nearer to Helensburgh this time and we intend to run our summer Show again in June, after a successful debut Show last year.  Please make every effort to support it as much blood, sweat and tears goes in to its organisation which results in a professionally run show. As with last year it will be a qualifying show for the Festival of Champions event at Ingliston Equestrian Centre.

This year we hope to continue to offer cross country training at different locations including Lyleston, Balfron, Ardgowan and Colgrain, again watch this space.

If you have a particular idea or event that you would like Gareloch Riding Club to offer send us an email or give us a ring to let us know.  We would be delighted to hear from you.  Many of you responded to our requests to complete our questionnaires and your responses have guided what we have provided since October. We will continue to use the collated results to further guide future events.
